According to The Sun, prime minister David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband are ‘turning off voters as UKIP soars in popularity’.
Support for Nigel Farage’s party has hit 17 per cent – while Labour has dropped to 34 per cent, the Tories are down to 30 per cent and the Lib Dems are trailing on just 10 per cent.
The ComRes poll for The Independent also found that six in ten voters (61 per cent) don’t think Mr Cameron has the leadership qualities needed to win a majority in the 2015 election.
And more than half (56 per cent) believe the Tories are more divided today than they were under John Major.

Meanwhile The Sun’s YouGov poll put the Conservatives on 29 per cent, Labour on 39 per cent, UKIP on 15 per cent and the Lib Dems on 10 per cent. Support for UKIP reached 19 per cent in a ComRes poll earlier this month.
It may seem a little strange of The Sun to place their own poll in a secondary position to that of a rival newspaper. Strange, that is, until you notice that in The Sun poll Labour’s lead is five six points greater than in the poll for The Independent.

Actually it’s LEAD is 6 points greater (39:29 as opposed to 34:30)

The Independent poll also favours Ukip, the new darling of News International.

The Sun has been fairly consistent in reporting its own poll only when it shows significant change, which is not the case today.
In any case, if I were a Labour activist I would be deeply concerned about the party’s apparent inability to pick up the anti-government protest that normally swells the Opposition poll share midterm – especially with the LDs also in government.

At first reading I thought The Sun’s poll was an unscientific ‘online’ poll, but upon finding out it was a YouGov poll, the editorial bias is glaringly obvious. Good find.

Nope. Can’t say I’m overly concerned. All looking good, Labour consistently ahead, positive mood on the doorstep.
